I keep a journal. A hardcopy, offline, and write in it with a pen. Gasp! Archaic! And not just any pen, a fountain pen. I love it. The feel of the paper, the movement of the pen across it. It makes my imagination soar.
Today I’m sharing an entry. It’s a found word sentence. This is one of my favorite writing exercises. It gets my mind moving in new directions. Pick a book, flip to a random page, scan, use the first word that catches your eye. Repeat until you have three words.
The words are: vitrified, laden, mysterious.
The mysterious air was laden with scents most wonderful that vitrified in the morning sun.
I’d love to read your sentences! Put them in the comments.
vitrify – turn to glass
I love this exercise. I’m archaic too. Can’t wait to try it myself.
